Yea, that's the bad thing... but I'm not yet sure if the restriction is dictated by what's edited into the file itself (which could be changed with a simple additional character on your machine before uploading), or what.

In any event, it'll force a higher quality mix out of me, as I will have to thoroughly consider what is going into it now. Possibly for the best!

It can. A buddy of mine did a playlist made up entirely of Devin Townsend, and just changed a character around in the file name before uploading it. Looks kind of silly though.

Oh, also don't be surprised if your playlist order changes after a listen. For whatever reason they have rotate the track list order to satisfy some copyright thing. It can kind of suck when you put your playlist to play in a specific order, kind of breaks the spirit and way mixtapes should be made.

Yeah, because of that, I'm not going to think too hard on the flow of it. Seems a bit of a waste of work when it's not sustained.

Yea, I read that. As long as the first listen is right, I'm ok. Sorta. (assuming the original order is good for each individual listener, then subsequent listens are out of order) I mean, I definitely need to arrange songs the way I would mix them if I were a DJ or making a regular mix tape. And as long as the person listening listens to the whole thing in one shot the first time, and knows it will be out of order the next, then I'm good.

But, to be honest, I think half the time the only people that really see the intent behind the ordering are the people that make the mixes anyway. (unless there are some drastic changes that need to placed right)

I wonder what kind of copyright thing that's actually addressing? Doesn't make sense to me..

You have a pretty good shot someone will actually listen to it. You're only allowed two skips an hour, so unless they're really not enjoying it, they're most likely going to listen to it at least once. It's the same luxury you were afforded when you would make them in real life, where you at least knew the person you were giving the tape to was going to listen to the whole thing through that one time, because those things were a bitch to skip through. It's a pretty active community too, not often a day goes by where one of my playlists doesn't get "liked" by someone. There's an app for your iPhone and Droid too so you can listen to it on the go. I've found it to be very useful for the gym.

It's a mod orgy in here.

Thanks for the rec Pete, listening now. Digging Debaser at the moment, which I've oddly never heard.

I will make my own 8track very soon.
