Ever heard of Sativex? Marinol? Those are the names of THC and CBD based perscription drugs given to hundreds of thousands of people accross North America and Europe every year in a crude attempt at replicating marijuana's effects. Pharmaceutical lobbyists pay exorbitant amounts of money to cover up the fact that there hasn't been a single synthetic product made that can ever compare up to the real thing.

Here's a great little copy and paste for anyone who thinks I'm just blowing smoke...(get it?):

Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia. Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidoil, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present invention. A particular disclosed class of cannabinoids useful as neuroprotective antioxidants is formula (I) wherein the R group is independently selected from the group consisting of H, CH3, and COCH3.

This comes from U.S. Patent # 6630507, filed by US Department of Health and Human Services due to new findings by the National Institute of Mental Health and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.
Can't really believe you blasted my post. I wasn't claiming to be an authority, I was sharing what I knew/understood. You DO seem much in tune with what's going on concerning marijuana research. I've heard a lot of folks say what I shared, and that's why I shared it. Spreading misinformation? I guess that comes close, but you're basically telling me unless I know exactly what I'm talking about, I shouldn't speak at all.

A) I was agreeing with you guys on the positive effects.
B) I didn't put research in to my post. I was expressing what I understood, off the top of my head. I didn't assert myself well at all. "like... the South ... like ... Alabama [or something] Upon re-reading my post, I came off sounding more sure of my words than I felt about them when saying it... so I see where you're coming from sort of. Yeah, I've heard of Marinol. Some folks like it but it worries me that the government wants to make artificial THC and put it in the pharmacies... one of the great things about marijuana is that it's all natural, easy to make your own medicine (or pleasure drug, whatever you use it for it should be no one else's concern) where you can know what chemicals you use/what's 'in' it, molasses, superthrive, whatev.

I've caught up on the rest of the thread since I logged off earlier. It's time is over, but I just wanted to say. I always like to say stuff.

I can believe it. He's an elitist who likes to belittle people even though they take the same stance as him. It's his way of making himself feel superior, I guess.

did a search - it's "koutchie"

from wiki:-

Quote:
Mighty Diamonds are a Jamaican harmony trio, recording roots reggae with a strong Rastafarian influence. The group, which comprised Donald "Tabby" Shaw, Fitzroy "Bunny" Simpson, and Lloyd "Judge" Ferguson, was formed in 1969, and remains together as of 2010. They are best-known for their 1976 debut album Right Time produced by Joseph Hoo Kim, and the 1979 release Deeper Roots.

Their first hit singles "Country Living" and "Hey Girl" were recorded and released by the Channel One label. Two of their greatest songs are "Go Seek Your Rights" and "I Need A Roof" both from the mid 1970s. The latter was remixed in a techno style in the mid 1990s.

"Pass the Koutchie", written by Leroy Sibbles and Jackie Mittoo, became an international hit twice, when first released (on their 1981 album Changes),[1] and again when it was covered by Musical Youth and released as "Pass the Dutchie".
