I thought both of those were overhyped. But nearly all of the famous things ae nowadays.

MBDTF deserves its hype

Archandroid - blah! - i'd much rather listen to Beyonce's Birthday - the songs are better there

Back it up then. What's the best track and what's so great about it?

Devil in a New Dress is by far my favorite track on the album, its just amazing, brilliant sample and a song that just captures you.

I can see why someone wouldn't like Kanye West as a person, but IMO his music is great, some of the best mainstream hip hop around today.

All of the Lights is pristine pop and about the best thing Katy Perry is involved in

You mean Rihanna? All of the Lights is alright.

Devil in a New Dress, the other suggestion, I found a bit boring. Slightly different arrangement in the second half, but really sounds more of the same.

Whether it's Katy Perry or Rihanna, the moment either of their voices enters a song it's a "change the song or shoot me in the face" moment.

It sounds like I COULD try to get myself to give it another chance, but I don't see why I would want to do that to myself. If I have to fight myself to listen to something, and it's a chore, is it really worth doing? I'm quite happy hating this album. I also didn't really see any reasons in particular from you guys that I should. "Pristine pop" is nowhere near what I want. I abhor pop music. One thing I noticed that I didn't before is Bon Iver's involvement. I'm not really too into B.I. but that's cool. (It took just about every member of MusicBanter giving positive praise to the last albums to get me to even check it out)

Everyone has their top of music. That is the important thing.

I'm not into Bon Iver much at all, surface beauty sometimes but I hear not much else.

You abhor melody? Pop itself is way too general a term anyway, there can be pop or melodic based music in every genre.

well, it's cool if you can't get into it - but your earlier comments sounded "prejudicial", from my perception

and no, I can't stand Bon Iver either
