New FWM is a production, old FWM is music.

Yes it is. I have tried the old FWM and know Greeny`s albums very well.

"New FWM is a production" News for you mate, but your new FWM is like 36 years old now:finger:

Good thread. I'll give it a go. I just omitted the ones I haven't been around to yet.

1. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles
When I was in Liverpool in March, 2011.

2. Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys
On some train platform somewhere in the UK in March.

3. Revolver - The Beatles
Um. Hell. Probably just shy of a year ago?

10. The Beatles ("The White Album") - The Beatles
Months ago. Not sure how many. Too lazy to check RYM and see.

14. Abbey Road - The Beatles
A couple of months ago. This is the only album on the list so far I listen to regularly, or would say I love.

25. Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
Maybe six months ago.

26. The Joshua Tree - U2
Maybe 3 months ago.

30. Blue - Joni Mitchell
Maybe a month ago.

Still a poppy production compared to the true genius and musicality of the old FWM...
Agreeeee to disagree? :D

To be honest, I never thought early FWM ever put out a great album, just some average albums that had some great standout singles or tracks which boosted up the quality of the abums. The real strength of early FWM was always Peter Green`s guitar playing.

I love Then Play on. I really do. It's somewhere in my album top 50 I think.
I don't even play it that often, but it's a brilliant album if you ask me.

I dread to think what the other 49 albums are.

Lol. I don't think it's that bad.

I have almost every album on that list and do listen to them now and then. The ones it's been the longest since I listened to was probably 3 years ago, for example Exile on Main Street.

Today, I gave Kind of Blue a spin (great album) and yesterday, I listened to Born to Run although it's sort of a coincidence. I don't listen to it that much. What's Goin' On gets played now and then here and the same goes for all of Beatles. Astral Weeks I remember listening to in May and I also listened to Joni Mitchell's Blue around that time. Hendrix gets a rare listen now and then.

The one I haven't listened to for ages is Nirvana's Nevermind. I grew tired of that album in the 90s (loved it at some point) and it still bores me.

Ok I take that back.

On your list you`ve got Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Hendrix, Maiden, Styx, Kansas, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Saxon, Stranglers and my god Ten Years After! I like you again! I`m puzzled though, I was under the impression that you didn`t like metal, or are you one of those people that only likes classic era metal of the 1970s and early 1980s?
