Shits going down. My ****ing government blows. Honestly are you guys on Reddit and Twitter at the moment? It's like a virtual WW3.

There is no way in hell we are going to let the US Government DICTATE how the internet should be used for the WHOLE world. Can you imagine the end of MB? I really like that Anon is kicking up a stink, it's time these bastard corporates stopped stuffing up everything (such as THE MARKETS).

I have a right mind to get over to the North Shore court right now and protest Kim's arrest. Sorry guys for the spazzing, I'm just raged at the TAX AVOIDING media companies controlling the government like puppets. Obama's fucked.

Unfortanilty if something like this goes through in the US its only a matter of time before it does in most other civilized countries.

What I dont understand is why the government is bothering with sopa. Clearly by the recent Megaupload news it can take down sites without any further legislation.

Megaupload is already back up on another address which didn't take long. If they don't bother with SOPA and go straight for the kill they would be accused of breaking human rights.

What are you talking about? SOPA has not been passed.

What does this have to do with Obama? This is a bill that has been proposed in the House of Representatives, which Obama is not a part of. He has, however, stated his opposition to it.

I guess Obama and The White House are ****ed if tax avoiding companies control US internet laws instead of them.

I read earlier that the White House would veto against a passing of the SOPA and thought that was nice.

The White House doesn't, and isn't supposed to, "control the law" to begin with. The real issue here is with the representatives who are acting on behalf of corporate lobbyists instead of on behalf of the people they're supposed to be representing. The good news is there has been a big enough backlash that some of them seem to be backing down.

I'm just the translator/messenger, although if The White House can veto against SOPA, it seems they are able to control the law to at least some extent.
