What do you study to?

So I'm sitting here trying to study for a biochemistry exam and I really need to chill music to study to. I'm having a real hard time keeping it up though.

Stuff I usually like to study to:

Instrumental hip hop (Clams Casino is really nice...but guys like Blockhead are a bit too distracting).
Sigur Ros is usually great to study to, but I want something new.
Boards of Canada is in the same boat.

I just listened to THEESatisfaction's new album...and yeah, it distracted me.

Too much percussion distracts me. Vocals that are too prominent distract me. It's gotta be just right.

Anyway, what do you guys listen to while you study?

I'm almost positive this was a thread before, but I'm sure you can see how hard it would be to search for something like this. Plus I'm trying to study, geez.

I always listen to classical music. Two reasons: A. I usually have to listen to it anyways because I will have to identify some of those pieces in a listening exam, and B. I usually just continue to listen to it when I move onto other subjects.

Mozart's Piano Sonatas and Fantasies work wonders for concentration, FYI.

Love having Kid A on if I'm picking a single album. But usually something instrumental and more soothing, which means a lot of trip hop lately.

I study to ambient drone. All of it that I know is percussionless, percussion distracts me too. If it has lyrics, I'll find myself focusing on those rather thn my work, or I might end up singing along. A prominent melody is distracting, too, for some reason.

Plankton, algae and hundreds of biochemical phenomena under the sea. I studied Social Sciences and Humanities, though.

If I listen to something when I'm studying it has to bee instrumental since I can't really concentrate on reading if I hear singing. I end up listening to the lyrics from time to time and that really messes with the reading.

I usually listen to slowcore like Low, Dirty Three or Red House Painters.
