Can you guys list the top 10 music artists (bands or solo) today and their top hits (
I am oblivious to what's going on in the music world and am interested in starting to listen to popular songs in the past decade. I would appreciate it if you guys can list:
1. What you guys think are the most popular top 10 artists or bands in the past decade 2. For each artist/band, list their top 3 signature hits 3. What genre does each artist/band fall into (rock, pop, hip hop, etc). Thanks!! |

I'd like to start off that this is the worst way that you could possibly start learning about music. Pop culture? Yes. Music? Uh...
Anyhow, the first six of the list would probably look something like this (in no particular order) 1. Eminem (hip-hop) -Lose Yourself -The Real Slim Shady -Love the Way You Lie 2. Britney Spears (pop) -Oops, I Did It Again -Baby, Hit Me One More Time 3. Justin Timberlake (pop) -Cry Me A River -SexyBack 4. Adele (pop) -Rolling In The Deep -Someone Like You -Set Fire To The Rain 5. Lady Gaga (pop) -Poker Face -Paparrazzi -Born This Way 6. Black-Eyed Peas (pop, as of recent, hip-hop for most of their career) -I Gotta Feeling -Let's Get It Started -Boom Boom Pow Aaaand, then a ton of acts start competing for 7. Am I blanking out on someone really obvious right now? |

If you want to know about what's trendy why aren't you visiting something like Billboard.com? Charting pop garbage is kind of their thing.
Most of the people here are far more concerned with listening to something they like rather than impressing some kids at the mall, which if your trying to figure out what popular music you missed, are pretty much the only people who'll be impressed / creeped out (depends on your age) by your new found knowledge of trendy pop culture. |
