I love CCR one of my favorite songs is Run through the jungle and have you ever seen the rain

There was a time when CCR was all I would listen too. I had their Greatest Hits album and all 20 songs were so damn catchy and good. It may have been the only greatest hits CD I had where I wouldn't skip any of the tracks.

In terms of their full albums, you really can't go wrong with any one of them... except for Mardi Gras (which proves why John Fogerty should remain the sole song writer in CCR)

I can see where people sometimes label CCR as a jam band with the likes of the Dead and DMB. But I think CCR had too much groove with their R&B influence in their music to be a jam band.

And one final random thought on them: I had a project in my history of rock and roll class a few years back and had to pick a current artist who was an "offspring" of a 60's classic rock band. I had CCR and I went with King Khan and BBQ Show...

Any thoughts on that?

Actually John Fogerty is starting to appear more, he performed on last seasons American Idol with Phillip Phillips, and he performed on an even that was dedicated to the women of country music.

Looking through CCR's catalog, I can't find any bad songs, and my god, how did they never manage a number one? How did they not have SEVERAL number ones? I didn't live in the 60s or 70s, but I imagine they were extremely popular. Their run from the debut S/T album until even Mardi Gras, to a lesser extent than previous efforts, was fantastic.

yes that suprised me as well that they never had anumber one hit :0 and yes pretty much every album was solid even mardi gras the one album by them everyone trashes :/..it's actually a great album i love it..but i can say it's the equivalent of the beach boys "smiley smile"

CCR? Fabulous. Way ahead of their time, at the time.

Fogerty was amazingly talented. "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" Excellent song.

There are times where I need to sit back with a cup of coffee and enjoy something incredible, and Creedence Clearwater Revival are that incredible something. Recently (today) just got back into listening to these guys after only listening to one album a while back. Obviously i've been missing out, but it's never too late to start. Giving this ol' pearler a listen.
