Some of those first wave new wave bands didn't hold up so well for me. The Police sound kinda trite these days, The Pretenders - a few songs still sound okay, but generally Meh! Even Oingo Boingo, which surprises me because I used to LOVE those guys, but I think that is more because they were so good live. Talking Heads - for me, everything after Remain in Light is pretty disposable. Devo - first two albums still sound good but after that, ZZZzZZZ....

I also went through a period where I felt like I had 'outgrown' Rush, but it didn't last. What was I thinking?!?

I had a falling out with Rush as well. I forget how old I was, but it was a few years back. Maybe this is what's happening to you and later Talking Heads?

Yea unfortunately I joined that club. Thought they were hardcore and the shiz.

I sucked, and being 12 wasn't even an excuse.

Got out of it though. Went to Queen and AC/DC. Which was a winner.

Lol, who cares. You still like Dr Dre, what has that niqqa done post NWA?
Even NWA were **** apart from Ice Cube.

One flick through my CD collection would reveal some embarrassing choices.
I think everyone went through the nu-metal stage, where Linkin Park were the best thing ever.

I also used to like Nelly. The shame.

I found Hilary Duff thrown in the back of the collection.

agree with those two statements, except that Devo I'd limit to their debut

I used to think Linkin Park was my favorite band until I realized how lame they actually are.

Looking back it now, it makes me laugh
