Default Dudes that like chick singer/songwriters

When I was younger I used to listen almost exclusively to male singers. At the time I was into heavier stuff.

Now that I'm older I've grown a definite appreciation for female singer-songwriters. Some of my favorites are the obvious ones (ie. Aimee Mann, Fiona Apple) but I've also really gotten into Sarah Harmer lately. I wasn't a big fan of Kathleen Edwards' latest record (too much Bon Iver) but her earlier work is pretty happening. And if you haven't checked out the Jill Andrews 6-song EP you're missing out - great songs, great voice, terrific production values.

If you're a dude that likes chick singers like these I'm super-curious to know what's on your playlists.

(EDIT - reworded the first paragraph since it was confusing)

Thanks for the replies guys!

Not really in the mood for anything heavy - when I was younger, I might have been into Thorr's Hammer, but now, I'm a lot more into "wimpy."

I hate the phrase "singer/songwriter", or at least the way it's generally used, no doubt Julie Christmas, Jex Thoth, Jarboe all write and sing(awesomely I might add) but somehow they don't count as singer/songwriters?(not trying to give the op **** in any possible way i should add, it's not their fault someone else decided decades ago to co-opt the phrase to mean more than what it should, just a pet peeve of mine)

I discovered Imelda May through Jeff Beck. She's quite the crooner.
