i often ask myself "What's Muse's appeal?" It all sounds like an attempt to make a musical of George Orwell's 1984 but it's not backed up by any actual activism.

Although i did enjoy Absolution

I have a box under my bed of about a hundred albums I wish I'd never bought. Maybe one day I'll listen to all of them and write scathing reviews of myself at age 16.

The vast majority are that popular-emo that we will look back upon with humiliation when it's retro, but there's a healthy number of pop punk, christian screamo, and nu metal albums under there.

Muse's The Resistance. I bought it on CD because I really liked Black Holes at the time (still do). I remember popping it in my car's cd player and being massively disappointed by the drive home. It has only gotten worse since then.

That was the last time I bought anything on CD.

When I bought The Resistance I had the exact same reaction. On the drive home I was skipping through the tracks shouting "where's the ####ing riffs ?!" Never listened to it again.

Christian Screamo sounds kind of interesting. I imagine it's not as cool as it sounds.

I remember saying on here waaaaaaay back in either 2004 or 2005 that most of the poppy emo crap that was clogging up this place back then would be remembered as nothing more than the hair metal equivalent of the 00's and that people would be embarrassed by it in the future.

I got slated at the time but when was the last time you saw someone talk about Dashboard Confessional, Jimmy Eat World or Thursday on this forum.

I actually really liked Thursday a few years back. Wouldn't mind getting a hold of some of their albums actually, which I think I may do.
