Default Bands that merge genres

If the title didn't make what this thread was about clear enough, it's about bands that like, take two entirely different genres and put them together.

For example: Flogging Molly, who mix traditional Irish music with punk rock, or Gogol Bordello, who do the same but with tradition Russian/Gypsy music

Or, and my favourite band that comes under this field, Caravan Palace, who make French electroswing music, and it's awesome.

I would provide links but as I don't have 15 posts yet I can not. I will do later on, I highly recommend them to anyone with an open minded music taste. Especially Caravan Palace.

So what are your favourtie bands/artists that do this, guys?

Flogging Molly and Gogol Bordello are amazing. I think Beastie Boys are pretty cool, merging rap with hardcore punk, creating rapcore.

There are an infinite amount of these bands, but I obviously would be remiss if I didn't mention the Red Hot Chili Peppers blending funk and punk music to create their own unique sound that nobody has ever been able to replicate...

This is Caravan Palace. If the idea of Electroswing interests you at all, listen to this.

In some ways, I think Miles Davis was the best at this combining Jazz and Rock to create fusion. At the peak was Bitches Brew, but that and In a Silent Way and Tribute to Jack Johnson led the way for what has become quite a popular jazz sun-genre.

Mahavishnu Orchesttra are another great example. I'd best describe them as a mixture between Jazz and Progressive Rock, absolutely increidble musicians, way ahead of their time.
