Sacajawea and Pocahontas have no connection to each other in the world of Disney or in actual history. They lived two hundred years apart, came from completely different regions (about 2000 miles away from each other), and are famous for very different reasons.

Anyhoo... I think Sacajawea would have been a fan of Creedence Clearwater Revival. Especially the song "Proud Mary", for obvious reasons.

Trollheart 04-03-2013 10:37 AM

Yeah, I must have been getting mixed up with the Simpsons...

Staying with American legendary figures, who's got ideas for the first President of the United States?

I see George Washington having an incredibly dull and uncool taste in music limited to the likes of Kenny Loggins and Richard Marx. This would be the apex of excitement to him:

Big Ears 04-06-2013 07:15 AM

What is the definition of historical figure?

Isbjørn 04-06-2013 09:29 AM

No-fiction person which changed the path of history, I guess

Big Ears 04-06-2013 09:36 AM

The past tense 'changed' implies that modern people, who will be in the history books, are out?

Isbjørn 04-06-2013 10:02 AM

That depends on how big their achievement is, and how recent. A groundbreaking figure from the year 2005 will do, I think. But you should probably get a proper answer from someone with a bit more experience.

Trollheart 04-06-2013 02:00 PM

Not that I'm single-handedly trying to keep this alive, but....
How about Nelson Mandela? And let's have something other than the obvious per-leease! Here's mine...

gelmen 04-08-2013 11:55 AM

Good thread. :)

Well since Justin Beiber thinks that Anne Frank would have been a belieber or he hopes so anyways. I'm more incline to agree.

We should do Anne Frank next.

Janszoon 04-15-2013 09:05 AM

There's no way Anne Frank would listen to Beiber. I see her more as the kind of person who'd be into Elliott Smith and the Shins.

She should be glad the Nazis got to her first. Oh, I'm going to hell for that one.

You were already hellbound buddy before you said that lol

I feel she would've been big into 1Direction and possibly some Kpop too

Not sure why but the first act to come to mind was Alice Cooper. She might also dig the Smiths.

RoxyRollah 04-15-2013 12:03 PM

So, what kind of music would Caligula have listened to?

:)[/QUOTE]

Well I am gonna go with
" Fight for your right" Beastie Boys

unfortunately when you asked this question all that came to mind was one song... so unless this was his theme song... that followed him where ever he went... then I am gonna have to think on that.... :banghead:

Trollheart 04-16-2013 07:26 PM

Caligula's ancient history  --- we've moved on.
As for Anne Frank, there is but one song that fits...

misspoptart 04-17-2013 08:34 AM

Hmm, Anne Frank...she was a fairly happy-go-lucky girl with relatively few worries. Had she access to the music of today, I think she'd be into pretty mainstream stuff. Perhaps Florence and the Machine.

misspoptart 06-26-2013 07:20 AM

Hi hi, today I thought of a new one:

Let's do it as pair... what kind of music would Henry VII and Anne Boleyn have in common?

Big Ears 06-26-2013 09:31 AM

Alvin and the Chipmunks' version of I'm Henerey the Eighth I Am (from their classic album Chipmunks A Go-Go).

Big Ears 06-26-2013 09:34 AM

They might also chuckle over Gentle Giant's I Lost my Head.

misspoptart 06-27-2013 01:02 AM

I was thinking....

I don't know why but somehow I picture them letting their hair down and dancing to XTC's "Life Begins At the Hop". At least in private.

misspoptart 06-28-2013 01:04 AM

That song does have an upbeat, off-with-your-head type tune. It also sounds like the kind of song a guy chasing some girls down and getting rejected from time to time would listen to. In fact, I would love to see an fanvid with this song made. Perhaps rehashing content from "The Other Boleyn Girl," under the category of "shitty movies made better by good music."

ThePhanastasio 06-28-2013 02:10 AM

I feel like Anne Frank would be REALLY down with Adele. I could also see her getting behind Of Monsters and Men, possibly some Christina Perri.

She'd also probably crush on Bruno Mars.

What about Che Guevara, though? What would he like?

misspoptart 06-28-2013 04:50 AM

Che Guevara would have loved orishas!

Y ni los ángeles del cielo ................................ And neither the angels in heaven above

Alexander the Great? Something energetic. Hard rock, I think. Any specific song?

I know it's the thing to do to post a song that has something to do with the person, but Alexander the Great seems like the kind of guy who would be into listening to a song about himself.

Newkie 06-29-2013 01:46 PM

Alexander the great?

Hmm, I'll go with this

Will Smith - Men in black (HQ) - YouTube

for two reasons.

Firstly, Alexander means defender of men/mankind. Makes sense.

Secondly Alexander was renowned for his attempts to promote multiculturalism within his empire in an effort to do away with the ancient Greek/Persian-Barbarian distinctions and fully integrate the various peoples under his sway.

As such, he would totally dig the raw hip hop subculture that Will Smith epitomises.

Peace out.
