Default Coldplay top Radio 2's Top 100 albums ever

"A Rush of Blood to The Head" was voted as BBC listeners favourite album of all time: article here.

Of course this is a list of people's personal favourites and I think the bland, the boring and the inoffensive had a good shot of winning by appealing to the lowest common denominator, but really? It's a bit of a miserable reflection on people's taste in my opinion, even if you don't mind Coldplay.

I read a comment in the papers this morning expressing dismay that Sgt. Pepper wasn't top again, personally I'm glad of a change!

2. Keane - Hopes and Fears (2004)

^^^^ That's a worse reflection on people's taste than the number 1.

Considering that Back in Black doesn't even make the list shows the list is worthless.

Parachutes is a better album than A Rush of Blood to The Head.
You've got to take into account the Radio 2 audience.
White middle class, middle aged people who are easily offended and read The Daily Mail.

Also, Dido beating the Beatles

Have you heard Hopes and Fears Goofle? I contemplated once listening in one of my darker moments.

I can't help but think Super Hans' quote "People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis, they're not to be trusted" has never been more applicable.

Not fully. That would be an achievement akin to listening to The Disintegration Loops start to finish.

Everyone knows that, to the casual listener, "of all time" actually means "farthest back I can remember from personal experience," which is usually going to be fewer than ten years. Or it's going to be something crappy that they really liked when they were 12 or 13 or something, and that carries the most nostalgia, so that's what they picked even though they might like something way better now.

Coldplay is one of those bands that I hear on the radio and usually like the singles a lot, but then the rest of the record is kind of faceless and runs together. What's the one with The Scientist? That song is awesome. My ex bought the CD and I couldn't stand it beyond that song. She also bought the one with Yellow on it (Parachutes, I think), and it was the same way.

It's Radio 2

What do you expect

I'm shocked Simply Red & The Lighthouse Family weren't 3 & 4
