Doolittle and Disintegration are both cited as the greats, but frankly I prefer Bossanova. Disintegration is really good though, I just don't put it on enough.

I must've listened to a hundred albums from that year and only been really excited about Cardiacs. A few things (My Dad is Dead, The Cynics, Camper Van Beethoven) are totally solid, but the majority of releases I listened to really bombed with me.
