We split it up between the bandmembers, but concentrated on what needed upgrading the most. My drums got all new heads, extra sticks, etc. Guitarist got new strings, some pedals if I recall correctly. Think there was a mic or two purchased. Just various different equipment for the band.

That's good to hear that it got spread equally. So are you guys still together? What are you doing music wise these days?

Oh no, that was in my highschool years in the 90s. Different time and place.
I don't play with anyone anymore, but I'd still love to do so. For now it's just solo here-and-theres for my own amusement, and collabs with a friend.

Ah okay! I will need to check out more of your stuff, I know you're talented but just keep forgetting to check out MB Showcase.

I don't really post much on there. I don't really output frequently enough, much to my music friend's chagrin.

Oh. Well I'll check out what's already on here anyway. I remember you did your own thread that I enjoyed.

Search Weekend Astronauts on Soundcloud. There's stuff there. Also Freebase Dali on Soundcloud. The rest of my stuff is not online.

I'm really looking for some tips for creating our setlist and how to add ambiance to the show rather than just playing song after song.

The band should blow off the gig and instead take massive doses of blotter acid and spend the night wandering around the sand dunes in Death Valley National Park. There's an old Native American shaman living among the dunes who will provide you with fame and fortune beyond your wildest dreams.

Seriously, good luck with your debut gig and don't forget to bring plenty of ice cold beverages and an extra set of guitar strings along.

For those who are interested in knowing the show was great! In the green room and bathrooms past bands had their signatures everywhere and I even got to see where Kurt Cobain had signed back in '91! My band rocked hard and we had a great turnout so all in all it was the best night of my life :) Plus I didn't drop a drumstick (my biggest on stage fear)!

btw we didn't have time to grab guitar strings so our guitarist did end up breaking two strings but one of the other bands were nice enough to let us use their guitars :)
