I listen to music everyday. Sometimes I take a break from it, I enjoy silence as well. When I get sick (with the flu or a sinus headache) then I'll go without music for maybe a day or two. However I can't say how long I went without music because of boredom or lack of interest with it.

Nope. We have an ipod dock at work that is continuously on for 12 hours and working five days means I count myself lucky that we don't do local radio just to fill the day and although I do like long periods of silence to read or I am too busy doing housework etc to have music on, it always ends up that there isn't a day that goes by without music.

Having a break from your own music collection is always good though and I try at least once a week to just dedicate a day listening to new stuff (which just happens to be today!).

Music has been around me since I can remember and that will never change for better or worse.

@Jham Leeman: If you dont mind me asking what do you do?

If I'm hung over, I don't wanna hear anything. Be it music, noise, the annoying chatter of my GF blabbering, or birds chirping... especially birds chirping. It usually goes away by lunchtime, and I'm ready to rock. The only time I've ever gone days without music was when I was doing field exercises in the Army. Hated it.

I find silence can be as interesting as music sometimes.

I try to spend an hour a day listening to new music I haven't heard before. It's hard to keep up with the deluge of new releases that come out each week. There are still thousands of songs in my music collection that I've never given a full playing to.

Things were easier when I only listened to reggae music and it was possible to keep up with the new releases. Over the past couple of decades I've become more a generalist and I try to keep track of the latest music from nearly every musical genre. It's an impossible task to stay current on so many varieties of contemporary music. I'm still finding some excellent album releases from 2011 & 2012 that I didn't have time to listen to the first time around.

I don't like being constantly inundated with music, at all.

I guess you're not a fan of nature.

Ever been in a Zero DB Chamber? It's nice and quiet, but it can get to you after a while unless you're under control of your chakra's.

Yeah I've heard about those, I suffer a little from tinnitus from birth so I'm not going anywhere near one of those.

Ooh, ouch. Yeah that wouldn't be prudent.
