If you just sit down and listen to his music minus the films its just so surreal you could almost call it psychedelic. He was a huge influence on trip-hop, Deep House, and Acid Jazz. I have strange tastes what can I say.

I am a huuuuge fan of Mancini, but mostly of his work on the Breakfast at Tiffany's soundtrack. That album is pure gold. I seriously used to listen to it every day in middle school. My grandfather recommended it to me as a kid, and I never looked back.

Sorry for necromancing the thread, but today I was listening to the Pianoriental album Linsaholic that won a FAIR club recognition, and I got thinking about Henry Mancini again.

Satchmo, besides Breakfast at Tiffany's and Pink Panther, do you have any other song/album recommendations?

Here are my favorites:

This is great for dinner parties.

Good for background music while playing Clue.

This always puts me in the mood.

So, there you go. Enjoy!
