This was damn good...I needed something like this! I've been trying to satisfy a metal craving but I haven't found anything to my liking. This may be it.

As for influences...I'm going to return to a classic (at least a classic around these parts):



While not as jazz-filled as your post, they are definitely one of the first bands that I heard that took such disparate sounding genres and combined them into something very interesting.
