Only missed one song this time...Spotify didn't have Nouvelle Vague's "No One Knows". Everything else is here, though!

MB Weekly Member Mixtape #1, Part 2 on Spotify

I'll post my thoughts on both parts soon!

Allright so I listened a few times and while I liked most of the songs 4 really stood out.

11. wolverinewolfweiselpigeon: Nouvelle Vague - No One Knows
Well Queens is one of my favorite bands ever so naturally a cover is automatically awesome. This is more than a cover though, sounds nothing like the original and did a great job capturing a vibe I can only explain as Queens meets the elevator.

17. Astronomer: Twelve Foot Ninja - Ain't That A Bitch
This may have been my favorite song on the album. It sounds alot like a band I like called She Loves Pablo. Nothing about it is normal, and I could never see it becoming popular or going on the radio but it sure caught my attention.

18. Vanilla: Flume - Insane
The last year I have been getting into electronic music more and more. This type of stuff is what I seem to be gravitating to. It is aggressive yet still remains psychedelic and relaxed (if that makes any sense). Definitly going to find more from this artist.

20. Arya Stark: Father John Misty - Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings
I had heard aout this band and always thought without giving it a chance they would absolutely suck donkey cock. I was wrong, this song is not only amazing but the video is cool too and has Aubrey Plaza in it. Everything about the song is super simple and nothing new but it captures a mood a definitely enjoy. I will certainly check out more from this album.

I'm glad you enjoyed this! I actually chose their least "weird" song to put on the mixtape, so that it would be more palatable for everyone... ha!

I have had a listen to She Loves Pablo and enjoyed what I heard, I'm gonna go check them out! Thanks, Rez!

Just listened to this mix! And another great selection from all who participated This time I won't comment on every track, because it takes a long time and I'm sure not everyone reads these responses anyway, but here are some that stuck out for me!

Before I even looked at Rez's tracklist, when I started playing this mix, I KNEW this song would have been submitted by you, WWWP! What a cool cover, very chill. It reminds me of Triple J's Like a Version. You should check out these series of mixes, it's basically cool indie artists covering famous songs but in very different/interesting ways! Here are a few that you might enjoy, wolvey, if you ever want to check out the Like a Version mixes:

Spoiler for For WWWP:

Loved the acoustic guitar work in this track. Very nice. I drifted off towards the end though, I think I preferred the first half of the song which I thought was quite beautiful

Have heard this track before and am a fan of the killers, especially this one! Good choice.

Not the kind of music I would usually listen to, but I enjoyed this Jess!

This song is played ALL the time on a local radio station that I listen to over here! I couldn't believe it when I clicked play, Arya! I used to not really think much of it, but it's kinda growing on me. Good choice for the mix

My housemates love Rush, this was a good song choice of theirs! I've never really heavily gotten into them, but I need to!

Rush was probably an obvious choice from me, but the lyrics in that particular song really reflect how I feel these days. I'll be a bit more obscure in the future, and try to find something good (to me anyway) that no one has heard.

DL'ing Part 2 for myself atm... will report back pronto.

I downloaded the Zip file but is the Spotify one different? If so, someone will have to take some time to reupload that one for me as another Zip file

The spotify one is the same, except one song was not available.

It's just a different way to listen to the same thing!
