"Personal Blahblah" August Theme: Funny songs turned Sentimental

Ok here's mine...

"Dean's Dream"—Dead Milkmen
Goofy lyrics that describe a (presumably real) dream. I love this song because of how much the lyrics seem like the kind of dream I'd have, but there's something beyond that as well, a feeling in the actual tune writing itself that feels like the deep nostalgic soul ache when you think about some great summer night you experienced years ago, now lost to time. Seriously, this is how I feel when I listen to this song.

So are we still allowed to submit something that is another artist's song or do we have to record our own music? I'm so confused by this whole concept.

I posted something that was like yours J, but then found out it was meant to be something that I have recorded

But in the originalthread for this idea a few ideas were bumping around that didn't all suggest recording your own music, but more so a way of creating a listening party playlist that included a variety of music. So I have no idea now, I'll have to wait for Arya to respond!

They were supposed to be covers but I suppose I didn't explain it well. Just share what you got and we'll listen at the end of the month.

Hey everyone! I've been SUPER busy as I got a second job and have hardly even been home to get onto MB. I figure we can set up three times this coming week to listen to the songs that have been suggested here by the members. Soon I will make the next week's thread with a new theme!
