I hear you but Lady Gaga is one of the major pop stars of this age. Yes she is a copycat of Madonna but she is much weirder and creeper than Madonna. The worst part is Lady Gaga is making Madonna look much like a innocent and Madonna was a total whore back in the day. But considering how Gaga is acting, she is helping Madonna seem less dirty. Sad but true.

Now you have some female artists trying to act or sound like her (again think KESHA as the main example). It may not be popular opinion but it is true. Gaga herself will soon be nothing but her legacy will continue as Gaga copycats start to kick in.

Lady Gaga has a really nice body, nice tits, good full ass. I think I might join you in this masturbation session.

I am very happy with it Franco. Her booty is awesome, it's so thick and juicy. I will send happy thoughts that you get to grope it one day (without you getting a sexual harassment lawsuit)!

You like random ass tats? I can't do it. If my tat doesn't have a story relating back to a specific period in my life then I'm not getting it. When I'm older, I should be able to trace important life events through my tattoos with a story for each tattoo.

Looks like someone is playing the long con. Anyways, one thing that bothers me is everyone losing their damn mind and saying she was twerking. Hell no she wasn't. All she did was some sad ass stripper grinding that's it.

Can you please explain to me how Lady Gaga can be more groundbreaking than Madonna? She bases her entire image and music off of Madonna so how could she possibly be more groundbreaking? She doesnt have one classic album or song. She hasnt done anything remotely as iconic and groundbreaking as Madonna and she doesnt appeal to many different races/cultures etc.

Yes Lady Gaga is one of the bigger pop stars of her generation but that isnt saying a whole lot in a pop industry that builds products and backs them by machines. In other words, it doesnt mean that she is more talented or creative just because she has a million dollar backing. If you mean to tell me that all some artist has to do is do some outrageous antics and copy some chick 80's hair styles to be labeled as groundbreaking then something is really wrong.

(Not a huge Madonna fan but) Madonna was controversial and shocking but she was an artist She also had some classic pop tunes under her belt. She pushed herself and took risks. Gaga just tries hard to get attention because she knows that is what sells. I still dont see the artistic growth with her music or the artistry aspect about her. She still makes the same pop music. You can not outdo someone who has done it all already.

The VMA's over the last 10-15 years have been a joke and I think MTV is really playing a joke on the public with these award shows because they know they dont play music and even last year officially took the "music television" label off the channel. There is no way in hell JT deserved that MJ video vanguard award lmao and Im glad that he openly admitted he didnt. Pop music today is awful.... a mess. Im glad I didnt waste 2 hours watching that.

Cuthbert 08-27-2013 06:01 AM

lol

Don't really know what to make of this. Agree with Manky (yes there is an album) but saying that I still find it quite sad. Could she not have thought of something better than that?

I don't think this is 5* wumming, she's just a young girl trying to be something she isn't imo.

The sad part is that she's trying to twerk.

I only saw the Miley performance but here are the things that bothered me:

- Cultural Appropriation
- Making black girls follow her around w/ teddy bears while she does a dance they can do better
- Singing with Robin Thicke when everyone on that record should have been doing it with him
- Her voice didn't sound as good as it does in other performances
- The backlash and slutshaming that everyone all over the place is giving her for no reason

bob. 08-27-2013 08:33 AM

wow...had to look up twerk....had no idea there was a word for that :)

and to continue making myself look old....

i remember 30 years ago when an up and coming star popped out of a cake and "masturbated" (i use this word because that what her "dance" was described as) on stage while singing about feeling like a virgin....and this was during a VERY conservative time for this country....parent groups protested, the church freaked out, i think grain stopped growing for 13 days in the mid west....

seriously this was a big deal.....and created tons of press and sold billions of albums

what Cyrus did was god awful (i did watch just her performance)....i see what she was attempting to do....and it was an epic failure

I remember Madonnas performance. The uproar over basically nothing was hilarious.

As for the VMA'S I was not very impressed in the least when Justin Timberlake was really the only decent performance that says something. I think Thicke should have performed his hit with the hitmakers and left Cyrus on the sidelines, what a freakshow she was. Kanye West was disgustingly bad. I think he must be deaf because he was so out of tune autotune couldn;t save him. What a deplorable performance. Why don't the VMAS have rock acts anymore? And how the **** does One Direction beat out Blurred Lines and Get Lucky for best song? What a crock of **** the VMAS has turned into.

Arya Stark 08-27-2013 08:51 AM

Goofle 08-27-2013 08:52 AM

Apparently JT bossed it? Gonna have to check it out.

Gaga's voice is beautiful, I just have to say that.

He was clearly the only guy that had vocal chops that night. Thicke would have been fine if he didn't have Cyrus on stage with him. Timberlake was actually really good, regardless of what people think of the guy. Gotta say though NSYNC looked out of shape trying to keep up with him.

Arya Stark 08-27-2013 09:01 AM

I loved watching Gaga! I don't think the performance was amazing but her voice always is. I loved it and I love that song.

For anyone that wants to know, MTV has the entire show on Demand in clips on their website.

The Batlord 08-27-2013 09:01 AM

Good god I am sick of Miley Cyrus. As has been said her twerking is weak. The fact that people actually care shows just how clueless white people are. If you don't even know what a nice ass looks like then don't even say the word "twerk". But my real gripe with her is that she's just boring. She couldn't be any more obvious with her whole schtick. Why anyone thinks she's in any way controversial is a mystery to me. Bu yao.

P.S. GaGa's ass is breathtaking.

Burning Down 08-27-2013 09:19 AM

And Miley's ass is not lol

HOW DIDN'T YOU LIKE THE KANYE PERFORMANCE. I mean I know I'm like in love with him so I may be a little baised but he wasn't out of tune at all! AHHHHHHHHH FRED!!

I'm watching it again, I loved it. He didn't even need the light on for you to be able to see how into the performance he is. Oh my god I loved it.

TheBig3 08-27-2013 09:52 AM

Checking in from cranky old man world:

Its just the same recycled BS all the time. a bunch of 14 year olds pretend that what someone did was "so extreme" (re: sex) and news anchors pretend to ask with concern "should we be outraged."

Its boring. We don't even talk about the attempts that don't work. Remember when Nicki Minaj did that roman's Catholic church nonsense? Well people feigned outrage then too. It just didn't catch. The only thing preventing MTV for feeling the effects of the laws of diminishing returns is that we usher in a new crowd every other year.

The only outrage I have is that Miley Cyrus is having her 20's-phase on television for someone elses profit. People ought to be ashamed of that. Otherwise, she's just another stupid 20 year old who thinks pushing the envelope. The old men in my dive bar saw the same thing with Marilyn Monroe.

Putting my bias aside. I feel like people in general really try too hard anymore on these award shows. I didn't get any feeling from his performance. Sure he jumped around and did the rap pose thing and autotuned, but there wasn't anything relevant in his lyrics or intelligent. The backing beats didn't even move me whatsoever. I have tried many times to hear what people are talking about when it comes to Kanye, but it fails everytime for me.

My girl loves Kanye and agrees with you on his performance. I think music is being overproduced to the point where it sounds like a computer enhanced performance. I long for the days when people used DATS and got that smooth sound and the vocal tracks were comprehendable and warm. I'm hoping there will be a renaissance period where producers go back to that format.

I was with you up until the slutshaming bit. Do you honestly not see why people would do that? I'm against slut shaming in general but come on now. It's pretty plain to see why they would do that.

Rock acts have kind of died off in the sense that they aren't making it into the Top 40 anymore. There just isn't a high enough demand for rock acts so that's why they pass on them. As far as One Direction beating other those other two songs. It is because they were viewer voted and One Direction has some fans called directioners or some stupid **** like that and they flooded the voting sites and texting lines to make sure that they won best song. It's all about who has the craziest most dedicated fans. Same thing happened with Twilight during the MTV Movie Awards.

No, I can't see why they would do that.
I can see people saying what she did is inappropriate or too sexual for family television, or I can see them saying it's weird because Robin Thicke is so much older than her but to call her a whore and a slut and all of these horrible things? That's just stupid girl hate and disrespect.

Oh yeah. I still can't get over his interruption of Taylor Swift at the Grammys or whatever it was. Like that was her moment to shine and he ruined it. I think even Beyonce was embarrassed by that and she felt terrible about it.

You have to understand his environment growing up and constantly being put down and getting belittled. It makes you grow an ego to protect yourself after awhile and then when you finally make it **** whatever everyone else was saying. You get to ride on that high and I don't blame him for it. If I was in the same situation, I'd most likely behave the same way it's a freeing feeling.

She was exhibiting slutty behavior but that fact has to be glossed over? If it was a male doing it he would get the same labels, it's not just girl hate.

Arya Stark 08-27-2013 12:27 PM

There's a difference between saying someone's a slut and shaming them for it.
They aren't all saying 'Wow what a slut'

They're saying "WOW HOW DISGUSTING, SHE NEEDS TO DIE" etcetc

That's the climate of the internet nowadays though. Look at the youtube comment section and you'll see that all the time. I'm not excusing it as acceptable behavior. I'm just not shocked by it is all.

Arya Stark 08-27-2013 12:33 PM

I didn't say I was shocked by it, I said I'm bothered by it. It's disgusting, honestly.
And it's not only the internet, I've been hearing everywhere.

butthead aka 216 08-27-2013 12:36 PM

this slut shaming outrage has gone too far. yea people shouldnt say she should die, like chamaleon said its the internet what do u expect from youtube comments

dont do something knowing the type of reation u are gonna get then whine about the reaction. ppl in general should stop setting themselves up to be victims.

of course miley looked trashy thats what she was goin for. just a terrible outfit tho, ugh that ass looked brutal. should fitted her with a different material or somethin

vmas are about as pointless as the espy awards in general

Agreed, I'm sick of reading about it tbh. A slut is subjective anyway, people have the right to call her one. I wouldn't use that word just cos I don't like the word but I can see why people said it...

http://images.4chan.org/b/src/1377500716760.gif

Nothing to see here imo.

Arya Stark 08-27-2013 12:43 PM

Who the hell is talking about youtube comments?

I'm not even going to indulge you guys anymore than that. Slut-shame all you want.
I still think you're disgusting.

Back on topic of the VMAs in general, I actually disagree with all of the people saying the performances were ALL underwhelming. I think Drake's performance was silly, just because the song itself is not a very good one for such a huge crowd, but I'm also not a fan of that song overall, so I may be biased there.

JT was obviously amazing, and I loved seeing N*Sync for the little time they were on stage. You can tell he was humblr too about taking the Michael Jackson award, it was nice.

I just finished watching the Bruno Mars performance. I really don't like that song but his voice sounded pretty good. I think if you like the song and you're a Bruno Mars fan, you're probably going to have liked the performance.

I still have a little bit more to go!

butthead aka 216 08-27-2013 12:45 PM

chameleon just mentioned them

bruno is a great talent and awesome
