Looks like someone is playing the long con. Anyways, one thing that bothers me is everyone losing their damn mind and saying she was twerking. Hell no she wasn't. All she did was some sad ass stripper grinding that's it.

Sad but true.

Now you have some female artists trying to act or sound like her (again think KESHA as the main example). It may not be popular opinion but it is true. Gaga herself will soon be nothing but her legacy will continue as Gaga copycats start to kick in.

Can you please explain to me how Lady Gaga can be more groundbreaking than Madonna? She bases her entire image and music off of Madonna so how could she possibly be more groundbreaking? She doesnt have one classic album or song. She hasnt done anything remotely as iconic and groundbreaking as Madonna and she doesnt appeal to many different races/cultures etc.

Yes Lady Gaga is one of the bigger pop stars of her generation but that isnt saying a whole lot in a pop industry that builds products and backs them by machines. In other words, it doesnt mean that she is more talented or creative just because she has a million dollar backing. If you mean to tell me that all some artist has to do is do some outrageous antics and copy some chick 80's hair styles to be labeled as groundbreaking then something is really wrong.

(Not a huge Madonna fan but) Madonna was controversial and shocking but she was an artist She also had some classic pop tunes under her belt. She pushed herself and took risks. Gaga just tries hard to get attention because she knows that is what sells. I still dont see the artistic growth with her music or the artistry aspect about her. She still makes the same pop music. You can not outdo someone who has done it all already.

The VMA's over the last 10-15 years have been a joke and I think MTV is really playing a joke on the public with these award shows because they know they dont play music and even last year officially took the "music television" label off the channel. There is no way in hell JT deserved that MJ video vanguard award lmao and Im glad that he openly admitted he didnt. Pop music today is awful.... a mess. Im glad I didnt waste 2 hours watching that.

lol

Don't really know what to make of this. Agree with Manky (yes there is an album) but saying that I still find it quite sad. Could she not have thought of something better than that?

I don't think this is 5* wumming, she's just a young girl trying to be something she isn't imo.

The sad part is that she's trying to twerk.

I only saw the Miley performance but here are the things that bothered me:

- Cultural Appropriation
- Making black girls follow her around w/ teddy bears while she does a dance they can do better
- Singing with Robin Thicke when everyone on that record should have been doing it with him
- Her voice didn't sound as good as it does in other performances
- The backlash and slutshaming that everyone all over the place is giving her for no reason

wow...had to look up twerk....had no idea there was a word for that

and to continue making myself look old....

i remember 30 years ago when an up and coming star popped out of a cake and "masturbated" (i use this word because that what her "dance" was described as) on stage while singing about feeling like a virgin....and this was during a VERY conservative time for this country....parent groups protested, the church freaked out, i think grain stopped growing for 13 days in the mid west....

seriously this was a big deal.....and created tons of press and sold billions of albums

what Cyrus did was god awful (i did watch just her performance)....i see what she was attempting to do....and it was an epic failure

I remember Madonnas performance. The uproar over basically nothing was hilarious.

As for the VMA'S I was not very impressed in the least when Justin Timberlake was really the only decent performance that says something. I think Thicke should have performed his hit with the hitmakers and left Cyrus on the sidelines, what a freakshow she was. Kanye West was disgustingly bad. I think he must be deaf because he was so out of tune autotune couldn;t save him. What a deplorable performance. Why don't the VMAS have rock acts anymore? And how the **** does One Direction beat out Blurred Lines and Get Lucky for best song? What a crock of **** the VMAS has turned into.

I'm watching everything on mtv.com.

Gaga's voice is beautiful, I just have to say that.
