Default If you had to take 10 songs to an island...

10 songs for the rest of your life. Which songs would you take. Remember you'd be stuck in an island with an infinitely charged mp-3 player only (and food and drink obviously). What songs would you take?

We've had a thread like this before but here is my contribution (in no particular order):

1. The Cranberries - Zombie

2. The Rolling Stones - Give Me Shelter

3. Black Sabbath - War Pigs

4. Def Leppard - Love Bites

5. Sisters of Mercy - Temple of Love

6. Lorde - Tennis Courts

7. Kimbra - Good Intent

8. Nicole Kidman (Moulin Rouge Soundtrack) - Sparkling Diamonds

9. Judas Priest - Touch of Evil

10. Shapeshifter - One

I'd record all the songs I know into a single track, and over the course of several years of listening to it 24/7, carefully pinpoint at which point a new movement begins, so I can fast forward to my favorite parts.

Of course I'd be insane at that point....

I'd have to go with some long players, to get the most musical bang for my buck.

Mountain Jam - The Allman Brothers Band
Echoes - Pink Floyd
Dark Star - The Grateful Dead
Yoo Doo Right - Can
1983... (A Merman I Should Turn to Be) - Jimi Hendrix
From the Ages - Earthless
100 Foot Lemon - The Mermen
My Favorite Things - John Coltrane
Space is the Place - Sun Ra
The Little House I Used to Live in - The Mothers of Invention

I'd argue Gimme Shelter has the greatest middle and end too. Best 4 minutes of rock n roll ever put down on tape in my opinion.
