Agreed. Meat Is Murder is better than The Queen is Dead by a landslide. It's my favorite Smiths record.

As for this thread. These lists are so tiring nowadays that I see no point in looking too much into them.

The NME has always been crap anyhow. The only list that is important regarding albums is your own fave list, you only have to disagree with yourself every couple of years and not a whole bunch of bedroom vinyl vampires.

Just heard Meat is Murder. Still think The Queen is Dead is better and that its predecessor is little more than a good warmup. It's not bad, though, and maybe I'll grow on it.
