As far as I know, there isn't a thread about this yet. When music talks about itself. Music about music (could it be called metamusic?).

I guess there are examples from all styles. But, right now, rock songs come to mind.

Four classics. Bob Seger: Old Time Rock 'n Roll. Chubby Checker: Let's Twist Again. Elvis Presley: Jailhouse Rock. Bill Haley: Rock Around the Clock.

Other styles. Disco. The Village People: Can't Stop the Music.

Country (plus a little Boogie Woogie!)

There was a seriously ultra cheesy song called "Punkstation" from I think 1982 that I'm still trying to find somewhere. It's by a band I think from PA who actually had a decent B-side (kind of like a very light weight Cars), but damn me I will try to find it!!! Had the record as a kid, but sadly it went out of my collection. I really winced at the lyrics, but right now would be a good time to post it just for the hell of it.

A little more Ska, one from a fun UK Ska revival band, the other by someone who was more of a 60's Teen Idol (but points for trying).

Bad Manners' attempt to bring Ska into the Late 80's. Acid Ska was certainly a concept doomed to fail, but not without some amusement...points for trying, though. Then, it was WTF, today it's actually not too bad.

Dire Straits: Sultans of Swing (1978).

Music is something which brings in peace in our body mind and soul. Music has different flavour, it comes in different sounds and genre. To understand music one should have good knowledge of music. If one understand music there is nothing like it as it helps in good health and mindset. There are lots of online music classes being held for which one needs only some chat tools installed in the computer. The fees are also very reasonable.

A reflection on music: in The Alan Parsons Project album, Tales of Mystery and Imagination (1976), there is a track titled The Fall of the House of Usher (as the short story by Edgar Allan Poe). It includes a passage based on some Poe's writings, narrated by Orson Welles:

Unfortunately this Youtube clip cuts in late, after the song has already started, but there are still eight glorious minutes to recover from that hiccup and enjoy:-
