When Madonna was the most watched half time show more people tuned in to watch her show more than the actual game.

So it is very possible people tuned in just to watch him.

It is pretty impressive Bruno surpassed fMadonna!

Go Bruno!

Well, except for that...

I would like to see the statistics to support what you're saying about Madonna (who totally lip-synched that show).

MusicBanter: Facting your opinion to death since 2003.

Can't you miserable bastards stay on topic for once? Guy puts on one ****-kicker of a show, and we've got to talk about the ****ing Neilson ratings.

Nielsan ratings are included in that link but Beyonce's are exaggerated a bit

I remember after her show last year they made the the viewship hours public and 90 million only watched her halftime, alot tuned out but they overhype her all the time and NFL received alot of complaints from parents.

The NFL will always receive complaints from conservative parents and those stupid parent groups.

They complained about Prince's performance, Beyonce and everyone else. that's not even a big deal.

Prince did not get nearly as many complaints as Beyonce.

I did not say that to imply that it"is a big deal" but just pointing that fact out since last year they overhyped her performance like "everyone" enjoyed it.

When she performed last year the actual game received more viewership than her halftime performance so once again I think people tuned into halftime to see Bruno not because of the actual game.

Half time performances and the actual game are two different things. There are alot of people who just watch Halftime and not the actual game so it is very possible.

The ratings show that people obviously tuned in to see Bruno perform.

Actually all that shows is that people kept their tv's on when they were hitting the buffet at halftime. The party I was at it was basically background noise. Not one person at the party thought it was a good halftime show. I do have to say they did a great job on the lighting and background it was very festive. :)

Thats a good point too.

It does not necessarily mean people liked it just because they did not tune out.

But the statistics above show another point as well.

It shows that people are not afraid to tune out before or during half time if they really do not want to watch it.

If 10 million tuned out of Beyonce's half time, why didn't 10 million tune out of Bruno's (if they really did not want to watch it for the majority)?

There are always the exceptions to take into consideration which you mentioned. However, I think overall people were interested in watching his half time.

It's not I don't like Bruno, it's not that I don't rate him as a musician or understand his qualities but for me he's just meh.

It was decent performance but his songs are rubbish.

he'd catch a grenade for who he's never been in a committed relationship long enough to know that. Talking to the Moon feeling sorry for his own self destructive attitude, Just the Way You Are? Come on.

Writing soppy love songs, saying what he thinks women want to hear and not following his own advice he's so commercial and such a sell out.

How about writing about something interesting for once? Talking about being a billionaire, drinking, being lazy, pretending to be romantic to get sex he's about as much as a douche as you can get but because he dresses it up in nice girly songs that's ok.

I'm hoping the Bruno Mars love in ends soon. He's certainly nothing like MJ or Prince and he's not even original in what he writes about.
