Ouch. Some of my favorite band names are being called the worst in this thread? Butthole Surfers, Queens of the Stone Age, Fishbone, and OK Go are all ****ing awesome band names...

Megadeth...just terrible, just like the band ironically. Lamb of God and Live are pretty bad, but both ok bands.

so I don't think its the worst name.. but "mutemath" is just not a cool name. It subtly sucks... The worst name I can think of would be Tool. But they are the best band in the world so they makes it so bad its good.

They're also probably the only band who's name perfectly describes their audience.

Problem is, it's a generalization and their fan base is actually very diverse.

Also when they started, it was an ok name and the word "tool" didn't have the negative connotation is has today. At least not to my knowledge.

Butthole Surfers takes the prize. It's as though they asked a kid on Kindergarten for the best band name. I could never be bothered to to explore the discography of a band that apparently never left the the anal phase.
