I just tried to do a Hootie impression but it came out sounding like the guy from Creed.

To be fair, I never understood why Creed is so reviled by everyone. They were never THAT bad.

They're significantly more talented musicians, though. If it wasn't for Scott Stapp's lyrics and vocals, I think people would probably like them. Alter Bridge has a couple of good albums that aren't nearly as preachy, or filled with those "gargling balls" post-grunge vocals.

I'll admit that I liked a few of their songs back in the day, like "Higher" and "With Arms Wide Open." I also went to a Christian private school during my elementary years, and Creed was the heaviest sounding band to me at that time. So my judgement of them is probably clouded. I'm sure if I went back and listened to them now, I'd be disappointed.

I agree with Forward to Death, though. I've always liked the musicianship from them, but Stapp's vocals are a little too much on the raspy side, significantly more so than Chad Kroeger.
