If i like melody and rhytm I will check lyrics, but if I realize lyrics are awful I won't really like song anymore.

Nah I usually use audio editing software to remove the vocals from all my music.

Mondo has an excellent concept here.

1. Remove vocals.
2. Paulstretch to 800%.
3. $$$$$ selling an endless supply of hyer-pretentious ambient drone albums.

Enjoyable. A paulstretch manifestation of the dark ambient / arctic ambient one would hear from artists like Black Swan (or for minimal rhythms, Biosphere's Substrata LP).

Interesting to hear stuff like this coming out of California. Thanks!

It depends largely on the genre and the artists use of vocals. Hip hop yes almost always, everything else is pretty random.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Although I agree on personal taste, I also agree you are missing out on some great stuff. Some lyrics are just so meaningful that they touch the soul. Ever heard Hospice? I'm no big fan of the album, but the lyrics can be great. And anything Paul Simon writes has great lyrics. Also, I love Beastie Boys specifically gfor the lyrics. They crack me up! "Rapunzel, Rapunzel let down your hair, So I can climb up and get into your underwear."

It varies between genres. If the vocals are clean and intelligible, then I'll passively pay attention to them while listening on the first run. It's typically the case that I look up the lyrics later. I also usually pay more attention to lyrics whenever I just want to listen to individual tracks.
