Sorry, I can't help you out with this one.

Not interested in any songs about killing yourself? Killing others? Nothing about having sex? Being on acid? Ecstasy?

"SH*T up my nose,"

Fenixpunk 07-01-2005 01:43 PM

ok, so minor threat does use profanity, not alot but enough to get the message across. I was thinking more along the lines of "positive messages".

sleepy jack 07-01-2005 01:54 PM

Oh im still going with the Ramones "Blitskrieg Bop"

Hey ho, let's go Hey ho, let's go Hey ho, let's go Hey ho, let's go
They're forming in straight line
They're going through a tight wind
The kids are losing their minds
The Blitzkrieg Bop

They're piling in the back seat
They're generating steam heat
Pulsating to the back beat
The Blitzkrieg Bop

Hey ho, let's go
Shoot'em in the back now
What they want, I don't know
They're all reved up and ready to go

postive no profane lyrics!!!!!

or how about like

the queers "sun always shines around you"

Oh how I wish and hope it's true
That you know I'm in love with you
'Cause you seem to have forgotten I exist
And do you even remember that we kissed
And I'm wondering what you're thinking of me
Silly words we didn't mean
Hot and cold and in between
I'm left with a broken heart
And not too sure just where to start
And I'm hoping this ain't how it's gotta be
If I could turn the hands of time
Back into friends of mine
I'd chase away those clouds so gray
And things would be just fine
'Cause the sun always shines around you
So put away that angry face
'Cause we don't have much time to waste
It's a big wide world and it won't slow down
Let's get it right this time around
And I'm thinking - sunny skies are here to stay

Social Distortion "Ring Of Fire"

Love is a burning flame
And it makes the firery rain
Bound by one desire
I fell into a ring of fire

I fell into a burnin' ring of fire
I fell down down down
And the flames went higher
And it burns burns burns
That ring of fire
That ring of fire

The taste of love is sweet
When hearts like ours meet
I before ya like a child
Oh,
let the fire burn wild

I fell into a burnin' ring of fire
I fell down down down
And the flames went higher
And it burns burns burns
That ring of fire
That ring of fire

The Clash "train in vain"

Say you stand by your man
Tell me something I don’t understand
You said you love me and that’s a fact
Then you left me, said you felt trapped

Well some things you can explain away
But my heartache’s in me till this day

Chorus
Did you stand by me
No, not at all
Did you stand by me
No way

All the times
When we were close
I’ll remember these things the most
I see all my dreams come tumbling down
I won’t be happy without you around

So all alone I keep the wolves at bay
There is only one thing that I can say

Chorus

You must explain why this must be
Did you lie when you spoke to me

Did you stand by me
No, not at all

Now I got a job
But it don’t pay
I need new clothes
I need somewhere to stay
But without all these things I can do
But without your love I won’t make it through

But you don’t understand my point of view
I suppose there’s nothing I can do

Chorus

You must explain why this must be
Did you lie when you spoke to me?

Did you stand by me
Did you stand by me
No, not at all
Did you stand by me
No way
Did you stand by me
No, not at all
Did you stand by me
No way

the misfits "I wanna be an NY ranger"

I wanna be a New York Ranger
I wanna live the life of danger
I wanna be a New York Ranger
I wanna live the life of danger

Whoa oh whoa
Whoa oh whoa

I wanna be a New York Ranger
I wanna live the life of danger
I wanna be a New York Ranger
I wanna live the life of danger

Whoa oh whoa
Whoa oh whoa

I wanna be a New York Ranger
I wanna live the life of danger
I wanna be a New York Ranger
I wanna live the life of danger

Whoa oh whoa
Whoa oh whoa

Whoa oh Rangers
Go Rangers
Go New York

Honestly if you want upbeat positive music check out some children’s music.(Seriously)

Check out the Jack Johnson album "Sing-A-Longs & Lullabies For The Film Curious George." Almost all of the songs on that album have a nice mood to them and the lyrics are pretty upbeat.

Don McLean- American Pie
Big Bopper- Chantilly Lace

They're not groundbreaking or great songs. But they're really clean.

Chris Tomlin - Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)

This rendition brings the hymn to another level, with the alteration to the traditional 3/4 beat to a 4/4 beat, and also adding in a chorus (My Chains Are Gone).

Do have a listen!

PrairieAir 04-08-2011 09:26 PM

Someone already listed a bunch of good songs. I'll try not to duplicate, though many of those are in my list of favorites.
Tom Petty - "Learning to Fly", "The Waiting", "I Won't Back Down", "Refugee", "Running Down a Dream"
Boston - "Don't Look Back"
Jimmy Eat World - "The Middle"
Katy Perry - "Firework"
Natasha Bedingfield - "Unwritten"
The Avett Brothers - many of the songs on their "I and Love and You" album (You can listen to the entire album on their site, theavettbrothers.com/music.)
The Eagles - "Desparado"
Five For Fighting - "100 Years", "World"
Cold Play's "Yellow" is a happy, positive song to me. It seems like there are some others by them, too.

I know there are many more. Maybe if you told us what style of music you like it would be easier to help you find what you're looking for. Are there any certain bands you like? We like a lot of different types of music in this house!
