I didn't make the chart, but here's my observations.
The chart seems to average out the age and gender ratio for whatever artist you have based on info from Last.FM user accounts.
It's not uncommon for younger generations to listen to Judas Priest, hence the ~24 age figure. It is certainly true that people in their 50s listen to him as well. There's even a 82 year old metalhead man who listens to heavy metal including Judas Priest.

There are other forms of generalizations such as median, mode, and range. I suppose if a worldwide plot chart was mode, a significant amount of "dots" would cluster around the 50-80 age area for Judas Priest, Sinatra, and Dorsey.

Also, I guess there probably aren't a lot of 50 year olds using Last FM.
