Default Play 8-Bit Music on Yamaha Keyboard?
Hi!

I have a Yamaha NP-V80 keyboard, that has the option to connect to a PC over USB. I would like to know if there is a way to modify the keyboard, in any possible way, so I can play 8-Bit music on it?

I don't know what kind of answer you are looking for so:
  • I don't know if you want to circuit bend it to make your keyboard sound like an 8-bit. You would have to find the timer that controls DCO and use a pot (potentiometer) to control it and slow down to sound like an 8-bit signal... cant' recommend it if you are new to circuit bending. edit: I hope I worded that right.
  • or you can download this or something like it:
    8-bit Nintendo Sounds as a Free Windows/Mac Plug-in (Add an NES to GarageBand, Stompbox NES FX) - Create Digital Music
  • or you can buy a vintage 80s Roland electric piano (like a EP-09) sometimes you can find them under $200, they come kinda close to an 8-bit in sound, and their vintage and that makes them cool.

Does this work with Windows programs too, as I don't have a Mac?

Edit: nevermind, got it working with Mixcraft, thanks A LOT for the help, exactly what I was looking for!
