My dad listens to rock music, though not metal (unless you're right about him being a closet headbanger). I don't think he's even religious, and both my parents know that Iron Maiden is barely more satanic than The Beatles. But my mother is Christian, and she knows that a lot of extreme metal is Satanic, anti-Christian, gory etc., so she's not that comfortable with me listening to black/death metal. But that mostly means I have to listen to Burzum with headphones.
