Why don't you speak in normal terms and stop trying to impress everyone here with all your literate pop psychology.

Muzak is made to enhance the experience of shopping.
Soundtracks are made to enhance the experience of watching media.

I know my vocabulary was getting a little wanky, but I figured the comparison was obvious.

I think maybe you should have went to law school instead of music school.

Jesus...

So are you actually gonna reply to me or just be snarky in my general direction for using words you didn't like? (Note to mods: I promise that if this line of talking keeps going for whatever reason, I'll take it to PM. Not about to clog up a thread with this sort of thing.)

He wasn't really being snarky, just that you're discussing this on a very technical level, which is much different from what we usually do, more or less speaking on a more philisophical level.

Yeah, much too high brow for this dump.

(dig it though)

I haven't been able to contribute much to this thread lately because none of the YouTube linKS work on my phone, so I'm just kind of overseeing it

Necromancer 12-31-2014 11:47 AM

I haven't personally posted a YouTube video in over a year now. If it helps getting my point across during a debate with other members I sometimes consider it. But I actually rarely see the need these days. There are threads already established for posting YouTube videos.

But thats just my personal opinion and view on the subject. I'm just one member in music forum community of countless others.

Yes, in a sense it is. Want to give it a go Frownland? Let's have a conversation using just YouTube videos of music, want to give it a go?

And I don't think getting a degree or masters in music makes anyone more knowledgeable on the subject. I can tell you right now that I strongly believe that I can learn just as much, and easily more about music by just listening to it, playing it, reading about it, than sitting in any classroom listening to some professor preach his theories on music while using whatever movies, short clips, whatever the hell else to "educate" me about music. So if anyone wants to come here and pull out their dick and their so called masters or degree in music theory, whatever the f*ck else, nobody is going to listen to a thing you say with that approach.

I believe so, especially in this thread, many of the conversations stem from a video someone posted.
