Default Under Trollheart's Tree...

Christmas is on the way, and you know, they say it's a time for giving. So give me your albums --- any album, any genre, any era --- and I'll review one each day of Christmas from Dec 1 to 24. Wrap up your albums and leave them under the tree to be reviewed.

Rules: Only one album per member, first come first served, in other words, the first 24 people to respond will have their albums reviewed. After that, you're too late. Make sure there's a link for your album I can follow and if it's very obscure give me a little information about it. Ideally, no albums I have already reviewed. Also, remember that if I hate it I will say I hate it, so don't get all protective. You can send me an album you think I'll hate, but if I do then be prepared to have it villified. And I'll say nasty things about it too!

So drop your suggestions here. If you get an album in and want to change it later, and have already been accepted, then you can do so. But only once.

Oh yeah, nice glittery paper please people: none of that cheap stuff!

PS: Try to use this an an opportunity to get me to like an album you like, rather than hoping to blow my brains out with one I'd really hate. This is not The Batlord's Torture Chamber again!

For a moment I thought you were addressing me personally. Anyway…

Tame Impala - Lonerism

They sound like a mix of late Beatles and early Floyd, with a bit of Supertramp; I think you'll dig it. Vocalist sounds like a cross between John Lennon and Roger Hodgson.

Here's the full album on YouTube:

Here's some background:

And here's a sample…

The Marshal Mathers LP by Eminem. Since I never see you listen to much rap.

Eminem - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It's on spotify if you have it, but here is a link for youtube.

^ in fairness to Mr. Trollheart, he did specify that he wants us to suggest albums we think he would like. There's probably a reason he never reviews rap.

I'm not entirely sure which albums you have reviewed so let me know if this is one of them and I'll change it.

Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat - Weltuntergangsstimmung (2012)

This album is described as "Darkwave" but it's essentially gothic synth rock. I think you'd enjoy it.

You keep on saying you like prog but it's always that horrid synthetic overproduced 80s shite. I've never once heard you comment on anything about the Canterbury scene, anyway this isn't so much a prog album as an solo album from someone from that scene....

(click the present to see the album) What? He said wrap them up.

I had several ideas for what to suggest, but settled for this in the end.

I don't quite dig it as much as I used to, but I'm gonna recommend...

Soundgarden - Superunknown

It's accessible, but still pretty badass, and with a unique, killer singer. Everybody and their mother has heard at least the singles from this album, but knowing you, you may still never have heard it. If you have though, then just let me know and I'll pick something else.
