You seem to be quite ambivalent, which isn't a good sign. Those who succeed do so with conviction and guts.

If you wanna be a musician there's nothing stopping you. Success isn't punk rock. Just ask those 924 Gilman fuckfaces-er...AWESOME GUYS who wouldn't let Green Day play there anymore after Dookie

Ambivalent, that's a good word to describe my thought of it. I didn't know that word, just looked it up. Thanks for adding to my vocabulary!

My passion for music is a different thing aside from my desire to be a famous rock star. I do really want this, but feel I'm getting started too late. Rock stars need to be young 20-somethings. Not 30+. That's just how I feel.

No problem. I'm an English teacher.

There's actually a ton of things stopping me. Money, old age, people telling me I will fail, lack of dependable musicians to form a band with, the list goes on.

That's strange. I was an honors English student in HS. I guess I'm just dumber than I thought!

Musician - a person who plays a musical instrument.

The only thing stopping you would be becoming a vegetable

Pursuingchange 12-19-2014 12:03 AM

Musician does not necessarily= rock star.

Rock star= Young, good-looking, talented showman.

Sure, plenty of old beer-bellied balding men playing the county fair. Lots of them into music, but not rock stars.

Instead of saying "dumb", I advise my students to say "not yet". You didn't know the word "ambivalent" yet; now you do.

Lol, I am dumb though. I just barely squeaked by high school. Utterly failed college. But I can play guitar. What can I say?
