Let Trollheart rate your music
I mentioned in my journal I'd be looking at doing this, so here's how it's going to go, if anyone is interested.
If you have an RYM page or a Last.FM page or whatever way you catalogue your music (if you do) and you want me to rate it, drop me a line. I'll then choose up to ten (either decided between us or at my discretion/as time allows) using an RNG (Random Number Generator) to get a decent idea of the sort of music you listen to. I'll then, not review it but comment on the albums and let you know what I think of your music taste. Obviously a) this is my personal opinion so don't take offence or burn all your albums if I say they're crap or build an altar to me if I love them (you're free to build an altar if you want though: try to get my good side --- no, not my arse!) b) this is only done with your permission; I won't go raiding anyone's collection without being told I can c) It's all a bit of fun so don't take it too seriously d) in the end, my opinion matters about as much as the tiniest drop in the ocean, so I don't expect you to change your listening habits, but who knows? You may end up turning me on to music I didn't know or listen to before (not bloody likely) :pssst: Anyhoo, if you're interested shoot me a PM or post here. All RYMs will be carried out in my journal, so don't look for them here. So, who's got the cahoonas? Eh? Come on: I put them down and just turned my back for a second and now they're gone.... |
My last.fm is there is the signature vvvvvvvv kill it

My Collection.
This is every single album I have ever listened to. It would be awesome if you did it for mine. |

In other news, I'll do these the same way I did the "Under Trollheart's tree" and the albums I was recommended for Metal Month II, in other words, first come first served. So Mondo, you're up first! So that everyone isn't left waiting, I'll do one album from each person and say what I think of it, ie one album from Mondo's, one from Justin's, one from Machine's etc, and then give my total rating at the end. Is ten albums ok for everyone or would you prefer a different number (ten would be my max though)...? |
How's it gonna work for last.fm? Just our top albums overall?
|
En sig. And what's your process for picking the albums? I already know how you feel abou my número uno.
|
Yeah, 2 of my top ten are Gridlink albums, and another 3 are Orchid albums (screamo), so like... I dunno.
|
10 is cool by me

Here, use your fancy number generator to pick ten of my top twenty five from 2014, the top albums overall from me is basically all powerviolence and grindcore
http://oi60.tinypic.com/9lltug.jpg If you get 19 or something with multiple options, I'm sure you can figure out some kind of tie breaker |

All in the sig.

Just give me 24 hours to update RYM. I don't use it much.
|
Oh... kaaay. I'm not sure why you have three number 19s and no number 24, but I randomised and came up with ... 24. So counting down that corresponds to
CHOKEBORE "A taste for bitters" Hmm. I assumed they'd be a grindcore band but Wiki says no. I'll post the review when I have it done, in my journal. I'll do some more randomising tomorrow and let you other guys know what I get. |
No 24 because there's two 23s.
|
You can pick one randomly now if you like. There aren't any surprises in there though; I just added the first forty albums I could think of. You've got fifty to draw on total.
|
I'm bored as **** so I'll make this easy for you. I'll just post every single artist I have on my iPod. For fun! Seriously, I'm this bored. I need trivial tasks.

My media library has 3000+ artists, lemme post that.

I have 5,000 and a few hundred.
Urban cheats so he has like 8k. Poser. |
The only problem with that Exo is that you only posted artistes: I need albums. Not your whole collection I hasten to add, but I need to know what albums you have from each artiste, or even which are your favourites/recs? Even having the discography is no help, as for instance "The Black Rider" is going to receive a whole different rating to, say, "Closing time"...

So it goes...

My entire collection minus the albums not on RYM is on RYM https://rateyourmusic.com/~dylstew2.
Most of the things I've rated is stuff I listened to. My favourite genre, and what I've listened to the most, is Punk. Here is the albums I've listened rated recently: https://rateyourmusic.com/collection...r0.5-5.0,ss.dd. Page 3, after skid row is where the date stops matching the date I listened to the album, since from there on I was just rating my whole library in about a week. LastFM links: Here's my LastFM Library http://www.last.fm/user/dylstew/library?sortBy=name. If you click on the number of plays, it'll show what I have listened to. Sometimes it doesn't show an album for some odd reason though, but the tracks from that album do somehow appear under the albums. Here's my charts: http://www.last.fm/user/dylstew/charts?subtype=artists Again, click the number of plays to see which albums. Here's recently listened albums: http://www.last.fm/user/dylstew/albums Dates are not always accurate(just like the plays), but the latest ones usually are, unless I tried fixing the playcount of something I listened to a long time ago. |

I don't think I'd be able to handle the criticism. People complimenting my music taste is my lifeblood.

Rate me promptly, thanks (although this doesn't take into account what I listen to on my iPod nano (a lot more New Order).

Trollheart's got a lot of rating to do, it seems ;P
