Dude, I'm not actually recommending Insane Clown Posse. I dig the hell out of them, but I would never recommend them to someone as a way to get into hip hop. Just listen to Wu-Tang and get back to us.

Nas and Wu Tang were what first came to mind for me too. I think 36 Chambers was the first album that made me fall in love with the genre.
I wouldn't recommend Tupac, but I'm not a fan.
