Surprised no Iron Horse/Born to lose on that list. Certainly the bluesiest kickass song on their debut.

First time hearing it. Sounds like a Montrose "Rock Candy" rip. Good tune though.

I can definitely hear the similarity, but then again, the blues are generally working with a small pool of riffs and tempos. The Motorhead song still blows it out of the water IMO. It's grittier, the rhythm section makes it extra heavy, Lemmy's vocals are far meaner, and when it speeds up in the middle, the song just goes to a whole 'nother level of awesome.

Another example of a quasi-rip off that outstrips the original: I'm pretty sure Iron Maiden jacked the riff from MSG's "Armed and Ready" for "Two Minutes to Midnight", and totally blew it out of the water.

Yep. I always play the Maiden version of that riff.

The Beatles:

It's All Too Much
I'm Only Sleeping
A Day In the Life
I Want You (She's So Heavy)
Only A Northern Song

Good list. I'd forgotten It's All Too Much! Massively underrated.

Can't beat the ending of I'm Only Sleeping, always thought those reversed guitar lines must be what time travel sounds like.

The guitar in It's All Too Much is just so thick and drenched in effects, it's like a shoegaze song

Yeah that's a nice way to think look at it. I think if it was released even today it wouldn't seem dated. Ahead of its time for sure.
