The Ultimate Music Banter Song Wars

Most of the "wars" threads seem to have died slowly, but since I quite like the idea, I thought I'd try it again… with a slight twist. It'll probably fail miserably, but whatever.

Here's the idea. I post a song, and somebody else chooses a song to match against it. We vote as in the other threads, then somebody else then plays the winner. Et cetera. Ideally, this will go on forever and we can all discover some interesting stuff. There will, of course, be a sign-up sheet and rotation.

I'll start us off with one of my favourites, The Doors' "Touch Me".

Okay, I have to ask the question I was asked/demanded of when I started a "Song Wars" thread (which of course died and was buried at sea): how do you compare the songs? I could throw in a Waits, Marillion, Maiden or Perry Como song, but how do you rate that against a Doors one? On what criteria do you judge the two? Not trying to be a dick (I've already mastered that art!)

but just wondering how it's supposed to work.

I am judging the songs. My opinion dictates which song wins.

I'm pretty sure you just vote for which song you like better.

I'm not a fan of the Doors at all, but that WEG song sounds like something Tim Burton would put together. I'm an even bigger non-fan of Tim Burton, so:

The Doors - 1
WEG - 0

So, I'm thinking the first to reach 5 votes wins?

Just vote for whichever song you prefer.

Ok so someone plays the winner, but how does another game start? Or can voting be isolated games? So if I post a song would that be a totally separate voting battle to yours?

The next person in line plays the winner of the previous match. So if you sign up, you'll wait until our round is over, then pick a song.

I should also mention that the winner doesn't pick a new song; he continues with the same one until it's defeated.
