Is this fair, considering he/she has one post? Can one post be considered America bashing? Or do you know this poster from another forum? Just asking, as it seems a bit of a leap to a conclusion based on a single post.

But I have to admit that I haven't noticed that it's the users first post, might have reacted differently then.

Well, "Death to America!" could be a one-post America bash, or a long diatribe about the USA but I just think one sort of oblique reference does not qualify. If it develops along those lines I think you would be justified yes, but otherwise I'd just hold back and see what happens. Don't want to scare away the newbs on account of one thing they said that might have been taken up wrongly.

It doesn't make me think hardcore gangster rap.

It's not like I insulted the user's mom. He/she'll be fine.
And if such a minor quip would somehow be too scary and unpleasant, then I don't think this forum would be the right place anyway.
