Frowny you actually have to read my post to be able to comment on it logically..... I did not say Elvis Mother saw a "black " person once. She picked cotton with them " Every Day " That would be several times a week. Numerous times a month....... The rest of your post is sadly not even worth commenting on intelligently.......:afro:

So because she saw black people often Elvis isn't racist? I'm not convinced. What someone's parents does means nothing.

What someone's parents does means nothing? Are you for real? Where do you think you got your "values from"? You know those people that lived in the same house as you. May have brought you up and taught you things. Seriously you need to think a bit about what is being discussed here before you start throwing foolish statements out like the last one. By most accounts Elvis was a polite respectful person. It has been written about and discussed thousands of times..........

My dads pretty racist but I'm not. My mom doesn't like instrumental music and it's my favourite. Parents do have an influence on our worldview but that doesn't mean that we morally become mirror images of them.

Elvis was probably a nice guy to honkie journalists who would speak highly of him, but talk to Elvis while having a heavy tan or while dark and he'd probably try to break his guitar over your head for promoting integration. It's pretty much undeniable that Elvis was racist, just look at him and listen to his music.

Frowny sometimes I wonder if your parents may have just let you fall out of your crib to purposely damage your head.

They knew well enough to show me how to identify racists like Elvis and to not insult people just because I disagree with them. You can rationalize being a fan in the light of his personality all you want but it is a tried and true fact that he was racist and hated the blacks with a passion. It's okay to separate an artist from their art, but if you can't do that don't go around ignoring facts.

Sorry but NO where that I know of does anyone elude to the fact that Elvis was a "racist" ......He was extremely over weight and a drug addict, but a racist I'm afraid not. :afro: So since Mom and Dad did such a good job of showing you how to identify when someone is a racist I will totally 100% agree with you if you can paste a story from anywhere in the world that states Elvis was a racist with actual "facts " attached........

'I really don't like black people.'

Well I'm off to read "Down At The End Of Lonely Street " to see if there is any mention of Elvis being a "racist " See if you can dig up any factual accounts of this.....
