Do you own an iPod?

I was thinking about picking one up, but they're so expensive. I've also heard bad things about their batteries. Does anyone here own one or have any experience with them? Are they good, bad, or just OK?

MobilizeTerror 12-23-2003 11:39 AM

If I knew what an iPod was maybe i could help you out, but I don't... :p

Rockafella Skank 12-23-2003 11:46 AM

An iPod is a very popular mp3 player.

See http://www.ipod.com for details.

MobilizeTerror 12-23-2003 11:47 AM

I have an mp3 player, that is great and very useful, but I don't have an iPod.

Chanty My Chem 09-17-2007 07:02 PM

sleepy jack 09-17-2007 07:08 PM

Laces Out Dan! 09-17-2007 07:24 PM

30 gig video. Its an appendage of my body.

Sparky 09-17-2007 07:50 PM

^same

mine is black though >;[

jackhammer 09-17-2007 07:54 PM

I don't follow the crowds. Apple can get screwed. What do they know about music? Sure they can make good components, but they don't know music. I am talking acoustics and such like. Sony phone + Sennhheiser headphones=MP3 heaven.

avenged sevenfold 09-17-2007 07:57 PM

i have the 80 gig ipod video. its pretty good. they have the new video nano and ipod touch so you might want to check those out too.

Skid Mark 09-19-2007 03:06 AM

30 gig video, black here. i've only filled up 3 gigs so far :(

djchameleon 09-19-2007 03:21 AM

I feel sorry for all you ipod owners......ipods are crap literally. especially the ipod video. The resolution is so much better on other players

holdyoualways 09-19-2007 10:14 AM

i have a 30 gig video ipod, just dont have any videos on it
& i cant figure out how to add more songs to it on a new computer without having to completely wipe out my library & start over
had to get my computer refurbed & it totally wiped out all my music so now i havent added a new song in like...several months
piece of crap

stakeraiser 09-19-2007 10:32 AM

I own a Creative Zen 20 GB Sleek Photo

Works well, only problem is it likes to lock up sometimes while loading songs from the computer, have to restart it

kimberlyann 09-19-2007 02:50 PM

definately don't own one, nor plan on it anytime soon.

right-track 09-19-2007 02:52 PM

iPod owners spend more time putting music on it, than they do actually listening to it.

Sparky 09-19-2007 02:54 PM

tru dat :)

Honestly that isn't true for me. I am told to take off my I-pod by my parents and friends because I find it as an alternative to socializing.

Anyways I own a 80 GB video.

Sound Devastation 09-19-2007 05:10 PM

If i wanted an mp3 player (which i dont) i would not buy an iPod.

piece of crap

when you plug it in itunes of another computer, check on the manually update tab. it won't wipe out your library.

beatfreakx 09-19-2007 07:03 PM

my psp does the job.

Deeleea2000 09-23-2007 12:30 AM

I'm still using an iPod Mini - it went in for repair right at the outset of owning it but the replacement sent has been totally trouble free... it's Awesome!

Music_fanatic 09-23-2007 06:54 AM

Yeah ive had an ipod for years now. I cant leave home wit out it. Believe me they r worth the price.

Kevorkian Logic 09-23-2007 07:48 AM

I love my ipod, I hate itunes.

Raw & Funky 09-25-2007 10:31 AM

no ipod, jus a small 2GB Mp3 player wit 372 songs in it. Good enuff for me

holdyoualways 09-25-2007 10:51 AM

eh, i gave in & wiped out my library
it really sucks that you have to do that in order to add more songs
itunes sucks!

are you serious. I have a 60 Gig and can't even fit all the songs I want on it, it drives me crazy

djchameleon 09-26-2007 03:15 AM

^
haha 60gig isn't enough for you?

I have a 4gb creative labs player, I can watch videos on it and carry about 534 songs......I'm happy with that. The way it looks is how the new video ipod nano's look. I swear they totally ripped the idea off from creative for that new ipod nano. I'd never support apple. Never buying a Mac or their stupid Ipod.

of course not. I'm a music whore.

icebox 12-13-2007 03:25 AM

mine is creative zenv. i like it better than the ipod..very easy to manage..

phantonic_plague 12-13-2007 05:45 AM

i have a 4gb ipod and i've never had trouble with it, but i have absolutely no room left on it. anyways, i wouldn't get an ipod. oh, some advice: if you're going to get an mp3, you might as well get the biggest one they have; none of this 4gb nonsense. You'll just want to buy a bigger one next week. = )

Night_Lamp 12-13-2007 06:35 AM

I have a 4 gig Nano. It's great in the car or walking but the sound quality sucks. Another more audio-based forum I'm a member of says that the Zune is the best sounding, best featured, supported player.

But convience, rules. Better than no music.

dramababe 12-13-2007 02:53 PM

Yuck

I don't own an IPOD, but I know a lot of people who do!!

My sisters breaks down all the time. When i went to get an MP3 player I stayed away from the IPODS. I get myself a Creative Zen, 30 GB and it was cheaper than an Ipod and I love it!!

lucylamppost 12-13-2007 03:06 PM

I was on the city bus yesterday and I swear to god I counted 15 people with white headphones......

I love my ipod....I keep having to upgrade thou first I had a Nano , then a video 30G and now I have a 60G one and its almost filled :X

I have had mp3 players (irivers, and Creative) in the past but I prefer an ipod. In fact I worked at a store where I sold mp3 players .I dont know what you people are going on about them breaking. I used to treat my ipod like gold when it was my nano. Then I went tree planting with my 30G and put it threw hell and have no problems at all, As long as you get a good case its pretty safe....the head phones are **** on the other hand

sjp1966 12-13-2007 03:07 PM

I have an ipod, I have had one from new and yes the battery life is something of an issue, but i think that the benefits outweigh that, you have a USB charger and so you can charge it at any computer, or the pluf charger which you can use on the mains, i keep the usb lead in my bag so as long as i have access to a USB port i am sorted, plus i-tunes is a doddle to use. I would personally recommend one.

I would say from fully charged, i use mine for about 2 hours a day and i will go about 3 or 4 days without charging even then the battery is not completely dead

lucylamppost 12-13-2007 03:10 PM

you can get chargers that you dont need a Usb port. and I dont know what you guys are going on about Battery life I play mine from 6 in the morning till 3 in the afternoon so that is a good 10 hours of none stop playing. I find people drain the battery from playing around with it too much like picking a different song each time. Just make one play list for the day and go

Ipods are great for transferring music.
I just got 15k songs off my friend.
