Default That makes me think of..... (Game)

So something I would do with my Dad is take turns showing off musical interests with youtube, passing back and forth the control of what music were listened too mainly saying "That makes me think of..." then showcase the music.

Now I am sure everyone has done this and if not they should as I find it a really great way to just explore all music.

So the very basic rules go if some ones music rings a familiar bell post what is familiar to you and please do explain your reasoning as little or as much as you like. It can be a memory, a guitar riff, the singer looks a like or even simply just the title makes you think.

Sleeper- Inbetweener

Makes me think of Blurs Coffee and TV due to how some of the guitars are used at points.

Blur - Coffee and TV is the official song someone should "riff" on.

We've got this thread, and likely some others on the topic of songs sounding similar, but as you're trying to make a game of this, let's see how it goes.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Blur - Coffee and TV reminds me of the 90's... I guess it makes me think of this song, which also reminds me of the 90's. lol

Smashing pumpkins 1979 = JJ72 Long way south

The guitars in that song make me think of this song.

The singer reminds me a lot of Placebo maybe the way he sings I guess. They're also both in the similar vein of alternative rock.

Well it is not strictly sound a likes or hunting for 1 to 1 or even 1 to 2 on sound, a loose guide of really anything that comes to mind. Much like "Say the first thing that comes to mind." yet with music. As you say see how it goes, if it dies it dies, it thrives it thrives. Just something of a wild card to play.

With the use of the guitar in that Placebo song I keep expecting it to just gain speed and turn into The Offspring - Come Out Swinging. Which now I think about it may have been one of few albums I often listened too.....while using it as a custom soundtrack on my Xbox Original playing Tony Hawk Underground.

PS, Offspring is just so good!
