Here's another one featuring Carla Kihlstedt from 2 Foot Yard, although this album is instrumental (except one track). It's not grounded in pop like Borrowed Arms is, at times it's actually pretty experimental, but still a beautiful album with lots of great melodies. Hope you dig it.

^Tin Hat kicks some serious ass.

My rec: This Heat - Deceit

Everyone needs to hear that album and it's the best one I can think of that has strong vocals without being too inaccessible.

If you enjoyed the strokes material similar to those songs I mentioned.

Not criticizing as I've only listened to their debut, and only a couple times, but as the cover is your avatar and it's universally regarded as their best, why didn't you rec that first?

Well I felt it would be cliche. I thought it would be fun to rec their lesser recognized albums just to see what others think about them. If Horror enjoyed the best songs of Angles I am sure he will enjoy their debut.

@Horror - Considering your assertion that you don't listen to rock, how the hell is it that you liked Arkangel? Is there something you're not telling us, or should we just go buck wild and assume that you're a metalhead/punk who just never knew it?

I think I said it before in the torture thread. I like heavy music, I do like metal but, I like it LIVE. I want to be there to experience it. It's not something I enjoy just sitting around listening to ya know? And I think it should say up there that I love punk rock music. Have since I was a teenager. Local shows were a big part of my life for a long time. I prefer underground punk usually though. I think.

It's been a long time man.

A punk album so genius it doesn't matter if you see it live or not. Though I highly suggest that too.
