Why not Loveless? That's one of the most commonly talked-about albums in music history tbh

I'm the same with Loveless. I tried it for CAIHNH a good while back, just did not get it. It wasn't terrible, but a classic? Not in my book.

Will add your albums now.

U2 showed the world that effects pedals could make ****ty chart toppers. Loveless showed the world that you could use them to make music that not only doesn't make you want to kill yourself in hopes of finding a reincarnated life where people around you didn't have such godawful taste in music, but is also pretty great.

Tl;dr sans sarcasm, consider the release date of Loveless and how innovative it was in its original context.

It's one of these things that doesn't instantly reveal itself to you. Because of it's universal acclaim it's probably one of the first albums young people wanting to get further into music turn to.
I know I did. And for about two years I didn't see what the big deal was.

Definitely keep it in mind and return to it one day, it might just surprise you.

Totally agree with Wanky. I didn't care for the album at first, just like Jesus and the Mary Chain's Psychocandy, but after another listen or two, when you get past all the distortion, it's totally catchy and fun.
