Default Modern Day Beatles?

What bands do you think could be a good contendor for a modern day equivalent of the Beatles?

I personally think Animal Collective could be a good one. The band has a lot of fun, cheery, psychedelic pop music and they are very creative. Not to mention, they have clear Beatles influence. Sure, they're a little more electronic, but they have a similar presence. I could be wrong. I think they have a lot to offer in terms of quality, and so did the Beatles, even if I believe both are just a little overrated.

I think the real question, is who was the 60's Cannibal Corpse?

Foxygen does a pretty good Beatles ripoff.

We're talking about style and influence, right? Not marketing, popularity, and cultural phenomenon?

Mm, I'd say the former.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

The Young Veins - Change

I thought they had the potential to be the next Beatles, but alas they sorta drifted into the one album category, which is a shame. I was looking forwarded for them to do a Sgt Pepper & "White" album.
Believe it or not two members were from Panic! @ the Disco, Ryan Ross and Jon Walker.
