Good point, but Bowie was ahead of his time so maybe he could have seen that coming...

You have triggered me.

Add Bombers to that btw. Also Cat People was on Let's Dance? I have it on both CD and vinyl.

Diff version of Cat People mate. It was originally on the soundtrack to the movie. The Let's Dance take was a more 'upbeat' version.

Ah is it. Cheers.

Agree with you on Absolute Beginners, best thing he did in the 80s imo other than Scary Monsters.

I would have been inclined to nominate "This Is Not America". Wasn't that on a soundtrack or something, as opposed to a Bowie studio album?

I've always been annoyed at how soon the sax solo fades out on the five-minute on my best of CD. The full version is eight minutes long--definitely worth a listen if you haven't already heard it.

EDIT: Everybody's forgetting "Dancing in the Street"

Really pleased someone mentioned the 12" version of Absolute Beginners. What a masterpiece! One of the best songs of the 80's, never mind just a Bowie song.

Sorry, I've been pretty busy lately and didn't have time to maintain the thread or even listen to any of those albums.
I'd say screw my vote and let's move on, but we have a tie at the moment.
Are there any other voters?
If not, give me time till the end of the week and I'll catch up.

No worries mate, this thread is certainly way down the list in the order of life's priorities.
