Default Music for the Instrument

What are some artists/albums/tracks that centre your music around the instrument itself?

First one that comes to mind and the inspiration for this thread, Colin Stetson.


You can see it in Indian classical as well, where they use minimal drones for ragas to focus on the timbre of the sitar/tambura.
